What turns an interesting observation into something another person can examine? This reading path introduces selected AI-assisted scientific projects through their questions, methods, human contributions, and documented outputs. It keeps a model, a research result, and a proposed activity distinct.

After reading, choose a question with material you can actually inspect. That might mean reviewing a public dataset, recording observations, or tracing how a published project describes its method. The casebook offers related examples; the Project Lab offers a neighborhood observation notebook as a small practice in noticing and organizing material. Write down the source, your interpretation, and the next step separately. The result need not be a grand discovery: a clear record of a modest inquiry gives you and others something useful to return to.
