Reading and navigation

Research text, navigation, search results, and downloadable resources are server-rendered. The site uses headings, landmarks, a skip-to-content link, descriptive link text, visible focus states, and labeled form fields. The mobile menu is keyboard-operable and can be closed with Escape.

Motion and visual material

The homepage artwork can be paused and respects reduced-motion preferences. Mathematical drawings are decorative or accompanied by text explanations. Essential instructions never depend on interpreting the artwork. The observatory updates only in response to its controls.

Workspaces

Progress indicators are accompanied by text. Save and import messages use status regions. Clearing data or replacing a garden asks for confirmation. Most controls use native browser inputs. Interactive browser saving requires JavaScript; text worksheets provide an alternative.

Alternate formats

Every research guide and one-week project includes a Markdown download. Nine additional worksheets and starter kits are available in the resource library. The print stylesheet removes navigation and decorative material, and the interactive workspaces prepare text for printing.

Testing scope

This release was prepared with automated browser checks and responsive layout inspection. Those checks are not a full accessibility audit and do not establish conformance with every assistive-technology combination. Test the live site with the people and tools relevant to your use.

The spatial experience

Every room has a conventional reading or working destination. The scene loads only when requested, supports adjustable decorative motion and quality, and offers keyboard orbit controls alongside pointer and touch controls. The spatial activity panel uses native form controls. WebXR code includes a seated-first reference, large in-scene buttons, controller-ray selection, snap turning, and an on-demand basic Latin keyboard. Physical headset, assistive-technology, and accessibility conformance testing are not claimed for this release. You can use the standard tools without VR or a graphics-capable browser.
